Commenting on the incident to Minval.az, MP Rasim Musabayov said that everyone is used to the wailing of Karabakh Armenians, they have been doing this for the past three years.
“The wailing of the Armenians will probably continue in the foreseeable future, and we should not pay attention to it. So what if Vardanyan, Arayik or someone else is wailing. What of it? What impact does it have on Azerbaijan? Nonewhatsoever. That is all. It was quite expected that they would not look at our legal actions in silence. It is quite simple, they have no other leverage against Azerbaijan,” the MP said.
According to the MP, Armenians are making information waves, but with no results.
“Vardanyan should not be taken seriously at all: he is a Russian creature who is being used to put pressure on Nikol Pashinyan, among other things. He is not in a position to exert pressure on Azerbaijan. By the way, not only the Russians are behind the separatists, but also the French. But even they cannot influence Azerbaijan,” he said.
Musabayov added that apart from appeals, there are no real tools to bend Azerbaijan’s policy to Armenian wishes.
“Azerbaijan is acting in its sovereign territory, it is not killing anyone or invading anything. Perhaps they would like to see excessive aggression from Azerbaijan, to see us kill, to havepictures, some footage, so that the Armenian Diaspora could raise a great howl for the whole world to hear. When they cross the line, we put them in their place,” he added.
The MP pointed out that the Armenians want to dragAzerbaijan into any negotiations with so-called international involvement, which can go on forever.
“And until that time to insist on preserving the existing situation, when neither Azerbaijani laws nor Azerbaijani financial system operate in the territory removed from Azerbaijani jurisdiction. Let’s say they want to turn this territory into another Transnistria,” he emphasized.
According to him, Azerbaijan understands it very well and so do those who are trying to impose this on us.
“They all know that in the current situation there is no leverage against Azerbaijan. As for their wailing, we are immune to it, and we successfully repel their information attacks. And whenever possible, when the situation is ripe, we take effective measures. We moved step by step in line with our program, and eventually put the border crossing checkpoint in place, forcing everyone to eat it up. But to do that, we had to build a second road quickly. For that we had to remove the Russian peacekeepers from the old road, remove the Armenians from Lachin and the so-called ‘Aghavno’. Then, after everything was ready, we set up our border crossing checkpoint overnight. These actions had to be implemented properly, which is what was done. So, we are acting according to the program,” the MP stressed.
Commenting on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s reaction to the negotiation process, as well as the fact that the Russian Foreign Ministry is inviting the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers to the talks in an effort to make sure the peace treaty is signed with their involvement, Musabayov said that “they can dream on.”
“The Russian Foreign Ministry can say whatever they want. They made a statement, we responded. Azerbaijan has no intention to aggravate relations with Russia, but Azerbaijan does not want to do Russia’s bidding either. And in this sense, the response of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is quite telling. Russia is not in a position right now to tell Azerbaijan what to do and what not to do to the detriment of Azerbaijan’s own interests,” he summed up.
