At the master class held at the Baku Health Center, the scientist made a presentation on “Differential Diagnosis and Management of Primary Headaches”. He said that headaches are one of the causes behind significant socio-economic burden to society that most often leads to disability. Prof. Ashina stressed that that migraine is now viewed as a serious problem in the developed world, and highlighted the need for professional training of health professionals, accurate diagnosis, and simple lifestyle changes. The professor shared his international experience with the master class participants.
It should be noted that Messoud Ashina, who has been living in Denmark since 1989, is an active member of our diaspora. By the relevant decree of President Ilham Aliyev, he was elected a member of the Board of Trustees of the YASHAT Foundation. Last August he conducted at the Baku Health Center medical examination and treatment of veterans suffering from severe headaches. Sait Ashina, Assistant Professor of Neurology and Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School (US), Director of Boston-based Comprehensive Headache Center, and Håkan Ashina, Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, MD at the Danish Headache Center, were involved in this work as well. Messoud Ashina is also one of the Azerbaijani doctors represented on the Salam Doctor platform that provides healthcare services to the population in the Zangilan village of Agali, which is being reconstructed according to the “smart village” concept.
