Participants of the anti-colonialism protest brought the flag of Azerbaijan to the forefront, attaching it to the podium.
In the protest, which, according to media reports, was attended by up to 10,000 demonstrators, the flags of the United Nations and New Caledonia were also raised.
The protesters chanted slogans against France’s colonial policy and demanded independence.
