President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was first informed of the upcoming work on Karabakh and Sadigjan Streets.
It was noted that the total area of the residential building to be built on Karabakh Street will be 5,400 square meters. The 24 apartments in the four-story building will have two rooms and 6 apartments will have three rooms. It was said that a non-residential building will also be built on the site. The total area of the building, consisting of blocks A and B and an office building, will be 5,745 square meters. The second floor of the building will house a parking lot.
The head of state then broke ground on the construction of the future non-residential building on Karabakh Street.
As instructed by the head of state, initial funds have been allocated for the improvement of Karabakh Street. Improvement and infrastructure works are being carried out in parallel with the construction of the building. Following President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, part of the work is being done in public-private partnership. It should be noted that the President of Azerbaijan symbolically named the street “Karabakh”. This street, spanning the center of Shusha, is the location of the Govkhar Agha Mosque, Karabakh Hotel and the building of the Special Representative Office. During the reconstruction of the street special attention is being paid to the preservation of the historical and national architectural style of the city of Shusha.
As per instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, after Shusha natives, former IDPs, return to their hometown in the nearest future, they are to be given jobs. To this end, there is an ongoing work to provide employment for the population, the lists are being updated. 200 young people from Shusha have been included in the lists compiled based on the results of three job fairs for local residents organized by companies registered to work in Shusha. They are currently receiving training.
