This was stated by the spokesperson for the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aikhan Hajizade, regarding the biased resolution on Azerbaijan adopted by the European Parliament on April 25.
“The automatic adoption of such unilateral and biased resolutions without adequate assessment has long become a norm for the European Parliament. This step is nothing but a clear political order from certain forces in Europe aimed at further deteriorating relations with Azerbaijan,” he noted.
Hajizade emphasized that some MEPs, guided by their personal interests, are simply engaged in promoting a distorted picture of the situation in Azerbaijan. “The intentions of those who advocate for the adoption of such documents also include diverting attention from the truly acute socio-economic and political problems of European society. Moreover, calls for sanctions against Azerbaijan only complicate the relationship between Azerbaijan and the European Union,” he added.
