The Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, Elchin Amirbayov, held meetings with American officials during his visit to the United States, discussing the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as relations between Baku and Washington.
This was reported by the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States and the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations.
“During Elchin Amirbayov’s working visit, constructive meetings were held with representatives of the White House, the State Department, and the U.S. Congress, where bilateral relations, the peace process, and the latest developments in the region were discussed,” the diplomatic mission’s press service reported.
Additionally, the Azerbaijani diplomat met with representatives of prominent think tanks at a roundtable organized by the United States Institute of Peace. During the event, the discussions covered Azerbaijan-U.S. relations, the status and prospects of the peace process, as well as issues of regional and international security.
The Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations noted that Elchin Amirbayov also met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo to discuss the peace process and current events in the region.
