The administration of President Donald Trump is in talks with Azerbaijan about joining the “Abraham Accords” — an initiative aimed at normalizing relations between Muslim countries and Israel.
This was reported by Minval Politika, citing Bloomberg and Reuters.
Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries are also being considered for participation. Given their existing diplomatic ties with Israel, joining the accords would symbolize a deepening of cooperation in trade and defense.
According to the publication, Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his advisor Aryeh Lightstone have already met with President Ilham Aliyev. The negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage, and Washington is hopeful that an agreement could be signed in the coming weeks or months.
