The Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Cahit Bagci, informed journalists, “For a consulate to be opened in Khankendi, the city needs to be ready. We have made a request to open a consulate in Shusha. Negotiations are ongoing between the two countries on this matter, and Turkey is assessing the process. An announcement will be made when the time comes,” he emphasized.

Turkey has officially approached Azerbaijan with a proposal to open a consulate in the strategically important city of Shusha.
