On the first day of the review, December 2, committee member Cheong Chin-sung expressed surprise at the large number of claims against Azerbaijan in Armenia’s report and requested clarification as to why Azerbaijan was given such prominence in the document, considering there are no Azerbaijanis living in Armenia.
The head of the Armenian delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan, struggled to respond to the question, confirmed that there are no Azerbaijanis living in Armenia, and attempted to link the content about Azerbaijan in the document to security and political issues unrelated to the essence of the report.
