The Community notes that the content of the statement, which contains such far-fetched expressions as “blockade” and “humanitarian crisis”, gives grounds to say that UN experts are absolutely unaware of the issue on which they express an opinion, according to Azertag.
According to the UN Code of Conduct for Human Rights Experts (Code of Conduct), all their statements must be based on facts, evidence, reliable sources. The community regrets that experts, having violated the code of conduct, have become victims of the anti-Azerbaijani campaign carried out recently by some circles.
The Community calls on UN experts to maintain independence and impartiality in line with the Code of Conduct. The community, as an organization uniting Western Azerbaijanis deported by Armenia from their native lands, but who have not yet attracted the attention of the international community, including the UN, emphasizes that double standards and politicization of the issue of human rights are unacceptable.
The inclusion in the statement of the UN human rights experts of several unnecessary political messages once again indicates that they exceeded their mandate, received instructions from outside. In this regard, the community calls on UN experts not to discredit the system of human rights mandate holders.
