The Israeli Innovation Authority has announced that 20 Israeli climatech companies will be featured at next month’s COP29 Climate Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. The companies were selected by the Authority with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, and the Israel Export Institute, and represent sectors including renewable energy, water, advanced agriculture, green construction, smart transportation, environment, recycling, and carbon dioxide removal. Each one will be presenting solutions that aim to combat the global climate crisis.

“Israel’s participation in COP29 underscores our commitment to promoting groundbreaking technological solutions for addressing climate challenges,” said Dror Bin, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority. “Israeli companies are at the forefront of global technology, helping humanity and the global economy confront climate change through innovative solutions. Even in climate tech, Israel is one of the world’s leading innovation hubs.”

Each company will showcase its solutions at the Israeli pavilion in the BLUE ZONE, the event’s main hub. The technologies that will be presented were chosen as a way to demonstrate the impact of Israeli innovation on the global climate community.

The full list of companies is as follows:

  • Airovation Tech – which developed a technology for capturing and storing carbon dioxide from the air, helping industries such as fertilizers, cement, and steel reduce their carbon emissions.
  • CarbonBlue – which removes carbon dioxide from ocean water, allowing it to absorb more CO₂ from the atmosphere.
  • Rewind – which develops a carbon dioxide removal (CDR) method involving the storage of biomass in the anoxic waters of the Black Sea.
  • Momentick – which provides precise and autonomous capabilities for detecting and quantifying methane and other greenhouse gas emissions using sensors and AI.
  • Senecio Robotics – which tackles the global mosquito epidemic by developing an AI-powered robotic platform that releases sterile males, reducing mosquito populations in vast areas.
  • TextRe – which specializes in converting synthetic textile waste into sustainable recycled materials used in applications in the plastics industry.
  • Treetoscope – which presents advanced irrigation optimization technology in agriculture, reducing water waste and promoting the use of renewable water sources.
  • BlueGreen Water Technologies – which purifies polluted lakes by combining materials and technologies to treat stagnant water sources and rivers.
  • SolCold – which developed a nano-technological coating that cools buildings under sunlight without the need for electricity.
  • EZPack – which provides off-grid water solutions for rural areas, with technologies that supply clean water for drinking and agriculture even in harsh conditions.
  • NGV – which offers technology to reduce carbon emissions from polluting industries while creating sustainable products.
  • Envomed – which developed a solution for the treatment of hazardous medical waste.
  • Reep Technologies – which removes ink from paper in a way that allows paper reuse, reducing pollution in the printing industry.
  • H2OLL – which provides technology to extract drinking water directly from the air, a unique solution for areas with water shortages.
  • Salicrop – which develops environmentally friendly fertilizer alternatives that help plants adapt to harsh climatic conditions.
  • ANINA Culinary Art – which offers packaging solutions for healthy, eco-friendly meals, ready to eat within minutes.
  • CI Sensing – which developed a solution for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions based on Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) technology helping energy companies reduce emissions and enhance safety against leaks.
  • Marine Edge – which provides optimization solutions for shipping companies, reducing fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.
  • Terra – which developed technology for managing and monetizing carbon removal for farmers.

COP29 is the world’s largest climate conference attended by government representatives, the private sector, academia, and financial institutions. 2024 will see the attendance of more than 100 heads of state and over 40,000 participants. The conference will focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change, emphasizing innovative and sustainable solutions.
