According minval.az, citing the company, the Russian group of companies Natsproektstroy has completed the digitalization of the railway section between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Specialists from 1520 Signal (part of Natsproektstroy) equipped the Ujar–Hajigabul section with modern digital systems. This completes the digitalization of traffic management on the Baku–Beyuk Kesik line, which is part of the international transport corridor between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The project was implemented in partnership with the Azerbaijani company Rail Trans Service, with Azerbaijan Railways as the client.
“When working on major infrastructure projects abroad, Natsproektstroy creates an ecosystem with local partners: part of the production is localized, and jobs are created. The digitalization of the Baku–Beyuk Kesik line is a successful example of international cooperation. The project will significantly increase the speed and efficiency of transportation, as well as traffic safety,” said Dmitry Bolotsky, Deputy General Director for Commerce of Natsproektstroy.
According to him, digitalization will allow passenger train speeds to increase from 100 to 140 km/h, and freight train speeds from 80 to 120 km/h. In the future, the interval between trains will be reduced from 20 to 8 minutes.
The 122-kilometer Ujar–Hajigabul section had not been modernized since 1980. Outdated relay systems have been replaced with modern digital automation: station dispatchers can now remotely switch turnouts and signals via computer, set routes, monitor equipment parameters, and detect faults in time. The new system manages six stations, 19 level crossings, and more than 120 switches. It was developed by the Azerbaijani company Rail Trans Service based on Russian digital solutions from Natsproektstroy.
