A freight train consisting of 15 wagons loaded with Kazakh grain has departed from Azerbaijan to Armenia, Report says. The train left from the Balajary station, located near Baku.
The route runs along the Yalama–Balajary–Hajigabul–Boyuk Kesik line. After crossing the Azerbaijan–Georgia border, the cargo will pass through Georgian territory and arrive at the Dalarik station in Armenia.
In total, 1,048.8 tons of wheat are being transported.
Earlier, during his visit to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the lifting of restrictions on the transit of Kazakh cargo to Armenia, paving the way for the restoration of transport links along this route.
