During the conversation, it was underlined that Azerbaijan is a valuable partner of NATO. The contributions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan were highly praised, along with the country’s role as a regional transport and logistics hub in this context. It was also noted that Azerbaijani peacekeepers were the last military personnel to leave Afghanistan.
The meeting also addressed the close relations of friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and NATO member states. It was mentioned that since 1994, Azerbaijan has been actively participating in NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” programs.
Prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO were discussed, and views were exchanged on regional and global issues.
