They note that an agreement has been reached to withdraw the remaining units and servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia from the deployment zone of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and to disband and completely disarm the armed formations of the so-called “defense army of Nagorno-Karabakh” and the withdrawal of heavy equipment and weapons from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan for their prompt disposal. The issues raised by the Azerbaijani side about reintegration, as well as questions of ensuring the livelihood of the Karabakh population within the framework of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, according to the reached agreement, will be discussed at a meeting between representatives of the local Armenian population and representatives of the central authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which will be held in the city of Yevlakh on September 21, 2023, and during subsequent meetings.
Agreement reached to cease hostilities in Karabakh
Armenian media claims that, with the mediation of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent temporarily stationed in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, an agreement has been reached to fully cease hostilities from 13:00 on September 20, 2023.
