In his address, Aliyev emphasized the historical and enduring friendship between the two nations, noting that the whole world is witnessing the strength of their relationship.
“This ceremony once again showcases the friendship of our two countries,” President Aliyev remarked. “Our people have lived together for centuries, and today our relations are at their highest level.”
He highlighted the importance of joint projects in transportation, which are vital not only for the two nations but also for the entire region. “The North-South corridor is crucial for the region, and with the modernization of railway infrastructure in both Iran and Azerbaijan, it will become the most vital transport route in the world,” Aliyev stated.
President Aliyev also announced the inauguration of the new Aghband bridge, which is part of the North-South corridor, connecting the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan. This development further signifies the robust cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, enhancing regional connectivity and economic development.
