The head of state also pointed out that today we see a complete breakdown of the norms of international law.
“We cannot ignore the changing world, the changing rules, where the norms of international law are absolutely, totally destroyed. In our case, they were destroyed when Armenia occupied us. We actively appealed to the international community to draw attention to that injustice when our lands were under occupation, and the resolutions of the UN Security Council have not been implemented for 27 years. Now we see violations of international law in many other areas, and we see that some countries think they can ignore it and they do. So, this is an absolutely new situation. What will be the new order of the world? What will be the new function of the international institutions? Will the United Nations continue as it is or will it be reformed, or will some other organization emerge? All that is possible. And it depends on those who have the responsibility for the world, who have the power to promote the ideas, and the integrated opinion of decision-makers,” the Azerbaijani leader stressed.
