“COP29 is a crucial event when it comes to one of the greatest challenges facing the world: climate change and all its consequences that all countries face. As our country is known as a hydrocarbon nation with an economy based on natural gas and oil exploration, we have realized over the years that we must transition to green and renewable energy, which is one of the strategic goals of our government,” he said.
Amirbayov also noted that Azerbaijan aims to strengthen trade ties with Brazil.
“Brazil could, for example, increase its imports from Azerbaijan in the fertilizer sector, which is very important for our economy. We also have very good contacts in the aviation industry, as we buy many airplanes. We also want the number of tourists to increase because the best way to showcase your country is through a direct flight, and this is exactly what we needed to work on to make stops along the way as short as possible,” he added.
