The interlocutors discussed issues concerning the bilateral relations agenda between Armenia and the U.S., the meeting held on April 5 in Brussels, and the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process.
Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the activation of bilateral relations between Armenia and the U.S. He also emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached in Brussels on April 5, noting that these agreements were articulated in the press release following the meeting, and the meeting did not have any secret agenda.
Prime Minister Pashinyan also spoke positively about the process of demarcating the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of the agreements reached during the quadrilateral meeting in Prague on October 6, 2022, in the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process. The mutual recognition of territorial integrity and sovereignty by Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the Alma-Ata Declaration, as well as the implementation of the demarcation and delimitation processes based on the same declaration, pave the way for signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
They also discussed the “Crossroads of Peace” project. Prime Minister Pashinyan reiterated that it reflects the agreements reached in July 2023 in Brussels with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, regarding the principle that regional communications should be open based on the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries, following the principles of equality and reciprocity. These agreements are reflected in the statement made by Chairman Michel following the aforementioned meeting.
