These concerns were raised in the latest issue of the analytics YouTube project Caliber.
“According to available information, Armenia has deployed personnel in 12 Kamaz trucks, three Ural trucks, as well as several KUNGs (a truck with a universal zero-size body used to transport military personnel). Military personnel in civilian clothes are also being transported from Armenia to Karabakh by passenger cars.
“This is obviously a gross violation by Armenia of the agreements under the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020 and a serious obstacle to the establishment of long-term peace in the region. The most surprising part, however, is that the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces is fully aware of the redeployment of the Armenian troops. It is worth reminding that according to Paragraph 4 of the trilateral statement, ‘the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation shall be deployed concurrently with the withdrawal of the Armenian troops.’ Meanwhile, the real picture is completely different.
“One hopes that the command of the peacekeeping forces in Karabakh will give a public statement, clarifying the matter. Against the backdrop of the redeployment of the Armenian troops to Karabakh, there are justified doubts growing in the Azerbaijani society about both the sincerity of the Russian peacekeepers and Russia’s position in general,” the authors of the project point out.
