As part of preparations for the joint “Winter Exercises-2025,” scheduled to take place in the Turkish city of Kars under the military cooperation agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey, a flag exchange ceremony between the two countries was held. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
A ceremonial unit from the Separate Combined-Arms Army marched from the city of Nakhchivan through the Sadarak border checkpoint to the “Umid” bridge over the Araz River. Simultaneously, a ceremonial unit from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey marched from the city of Kars to the site of the ceremony.
After the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were performed on the “Umid” bridge, a ceremony was held to exchange the national flags of the two countries.
Speaking at the event marking the departure of personnel and military equipment to the exercise site, Major General Kanan Seyidov, Commander of the Separate Combined-Arms Army, emphasized the importance of joint military exercises and wished success to the participants.
Following the event, the units involved in the exercises departed from the city of Nakhchivan.
According to the exercise plan, the military personnel will perform various training and combat tasks in populated areas and challenging terrain under snowy and frosty conditions.
