As reported by Minval.az, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed regret over this visit, describing it as yet another manifestation of the anti-Azerbaijani policies of EU member states and European institutions. Baku also emphasized that Poland, as a strategic partner of Azerbaijan, should have refrained from such actions, which only exacerbate bilateral relations.
“The visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to the border region between Armenia and Azerbaijan, accompanied by members of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA), is unfortunately another demonstration of anti-Azerbaijani policies by various EU member states and European institutions.
We deeply regret that the president of a country that officially claims to be a ‘strategic partner’ of Azerbaijan participated in an unacceptable diplomatic ‘binocular show,’ which leads to a deterioration of relations between Azerbaijan and Poland.
Despite numerous appeals by Azerbaijani officials to the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, the Polish side did not refrain from this provocative step.
Azerbaijan reserves the right to take appropriate diplomatic measures in response to this unfriendly act,” the foreign ministry’s statement said.
