The event was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, the local community, and various organizations. Sevda Tahirli, co-founder of the Azerbaijani Association, welcomed the guests, spoke about the effective activities of the Azerbaijani community, and noted that “the opening of the Azerbaijani House is a great gift for our community in the United States.”
Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, congratulated compatriots on this significant occasion. He emphasized that the opening of the “Azerbaijani House” would enhance the activity of the Azerbaijani community. He also discussed projects implemented based on the instructions and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev and highlighted that the “Azerbaijani Houses” opened in foreign countries play a special role in establishing connections among fellow countrymen.
During the speeches, the importance of promoting the native language, history, and culture, as well as engaging youth in diaspora activities, was emphasized. It was expressed that the “Azerbaijani House” would contribute significantly to these efforts in the future.
Following the opening ceremony, a meeting was held with representatives of the Azerbaijani community in Virginia. Fuad Muradov spoke about the diaspora policy of Azerbaijan and the work being carried out by the State Committee. Community members noted the strengthening of coordinated activities within the Azerbaijani community in the United States, the acceleration of organizational processes, and the establishment of connections.
The event also featured videos about the diaspora’s activities. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on topics such as increasing diaspora activity, including on information platforms, the goals of the diaspora movement, and other issues.
