Over 50 Azerbaijani servicemen have arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in the exercises. Together with Kazakh paratroopers, they will carry out reconnaissance missions in mountainous terrain.
This marks the first time that tactical-special exercises involving the airborne assault troops of Kazakhstan and the special forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan are being conducted. Azerbaijani servicemen will share real combat experience gained in modern armed conflicts, as reported by “Azertac.”
“During the joint exercises, we must achieve high results in developing combat potential for conducting reconnaissance operations, searching for, and eliminating illegal armed formations in mountainous and desert terrain. Our goal is to strengthen combat cooperation,” emphasized Colonel Almas Isabekov, Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, addressing the servicemen of both countries.
The Azerbaijani servicemen are fully equipped with all necessary weapons and gear. According to the plan of the exercise leader, Major General Almaz Jumakeyev, Commander of the Air Assault Forces, the servicemen will perform reconnaissance tasks as part of combined units. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the servicemen undertook a 300-kilometer march by vehicle to the exercise area.
The international tactical-special exercise “Altyn Kyran – 2024” will take place from August 20 to 23 at the “Koktal” training ground in the Zhetysu region, involving over three hundred servicemen from both countries.
