The Azerbaijani official, on visit to Georgia for the first time along with a delegation from the country, thanked Papuashvili for the invitation and noted relations between the two countries continued “positively”, while inter-parliamentary ties had a “special place” in the partnership.
“Cooperation between [our] two countries is based on a solid relationship. I would especially like to note that at this stage, the relations between [our] parliaments are at a very high level,” Gafarova said.
The two officials discussed a number of issues relating to the South Caucasus region and the strengthening of bilateral relations, as well as the need for facilitating daily relations and frequent visits, _ said.
The importance and necessity of the work of the tripartite format of the Foreign Relations Committees of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey was also noted at the meeting.
