This collaboration is designed to promote the use of geographic information data in research and educational initiatives within Azerbaijan.
As part of this MoU, Esri has donated software licenses to Baku Engineering University, Baku State University, and the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. These licenses will provide students and researchers with access to advanced GIS software, enabling them to propose and visualize innovative solutions to contemporary issues such as climate change, water resource management, food security, natural hazards, and sustainable development.
This initiative aims to enhance the local workforce’s expertise in GIS, fostering advancements in various fields through the application of geographic information technology. Esri, with its global presence and innovative solutions in digital transformation, the Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced analytics, is well-positioned to support these educational and research activities in Azerbaijan.
