At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mikayil Jabbarov conveyed sincere greetings and good wishes from the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the leader of Uzbekistan.
The discussions focused on further development and deepening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership relations, as well as expanding practical cooperation in the context of fulfilling previously reached agreements.
Last year, mutual trade increased by 27 percent, and by an additional 15 percent since the beginning of this year.
Cooperation projects are being implemented in automobile manufacturing, energy, agriculture, electrical engineering, textile, tourism, and other sectors.
The importance of further increasing the project portfolio, including through funds from the Joint Investment Company, was emphasized.
To thoroughly prepare the economic agenda for the upcoming high-level meetings, the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the second Forum of Regions of the two countries will be held soon.
There was also an exchange of views on issues of regional cooperation. The outcomes of today’s trilateral meeting of the ministers of economy and energy of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan were highly evaluated.
