“Since the border with Azerbaijan is not demarcated, there is a certain risk of conflicts arising. To minimize this risk, we are starting with the places where the conflict potential is highest in order to keep the situation under control,” noted the Armenian leader.
“During the demarcation process, the Government of the Republic of Armenia set itself the task of adopting a principle that would create legal grounds not only for the restoration of the border in certain sections but for the entire border between the RA and Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan declared.
“On October 6, 2022, we reached an agreement with Azerbaijan on recognizing each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty based on the Alma-Ata Declaration. We agreed that the Alma-Ata Declaration would be the basis for the demarcation process. It is now extremely important to demonstrate in practice our commitment to this process,” he said.
