This was stated in a comment by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in response to the unjustified statements made by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien during the hearings at the Subcommittee on Europe of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
“The American side, being one of the mediators, also bears responsibility for never calling on Armenia, which is the aggressor and leads to destabilization in the region, to act in accordance with international law. Moreover, the U.S., as a party that supported the separatist regime and being the only country that officially financed the said regime and regularly organized trips of its representatives to the U.S. and meetings with U.S. officials, bear responsibility for not preventing the approach of double standards,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
