This is stated in the declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It is noted that against the backdrop of the European Union’s indifference to the nearly 30-year military aggression of Armenia against the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, policies of ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity towards Azerbaijanis, not condemning the fact that more than 1 million Azerbaijanis became displaced persons and refugees, statements supporting Armenia, and threats against Azerbaijan are clear examples of biased politics and double standards of this structure.
“The accusations made by the EU representative, who took no steps to prompt Armenia to act in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, pose a threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
We remind you again that there was a 44-day Patriotic War on the sovereign territories of our country, and 24-hour anti-terrorist activities were conducted in September of this year. Azerbaijan has restored its sovereignty using legitimate methods within the norms and principles of international law.
At a time when EU member countries are suffering from trends of aggressive separatism, attempts by the EU’s foreign policy department to incite separatism in our country are a source of serious concern,” the Ministry’s statement emphasized.
“The EU’s efforts to arm Armenia and thus support a policy of treacherous militarization, hindering peace and stability in the region, encourage a policy leading to new conflicts in the region, and the EU also bears responsibility for this.
For this purpose, plans to use the European Peace Initiative, which also involves strengthening military potential, exacerbate tensions in the region. We remind you once again that speaking to Azerbaijan in a language of threats is unacceptable, and any unfriendly actions will not lead to a positive result but will receive an adequate response,” says the information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
