In the first 7 months of the year, imports of motor vehicles with a seating capacity of 10 and more, including the driver, increased 5.1 times, coming to 329 units ($45.7 million), while imports of passenger cars and other motor vehicles decreased by 13.4%, coming to 38,140 units ($418.7 million).
Of these, 7,070 ($71.9 million) are hybrid vehicles powered by an electric motor in addition to an internal combustion engine, and 186 ($5.5 million) are vehicles powered only by an electric motor, up 20.3% and 4.2-fold, respectively.
In addition, imports of cargo motor vehicles decreased by 15%, amounting to 2,717 units (worth $55.4 million), and imports of special purpose vehicles increased 2.75 times, amounting to 176 units (worth $21.8 million).
