The concert in Baku, held on February 10, consisted of two parts. The program included compositions from Barakatt’s latest album, as well as popular works from previous years.
The musician was born in 1973 in Quebec, Canada, into a Lebanese family. He began learning to play the piano at the age of four and then spent 15 years studying classical music and jazz, which he still performs today. Many of his works have been selected as musical themes for over 150 television shows and international competitions, including the Monaco Grand Prix and the FIFA World Cup.
Steve Barakatt is not only a musician but also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. He also composed the UNICEF international anthem “Lullaby.” Notably, this anthem, for which a video about children’s rights was made, was played in space on the orbital station. The musician performed his famous work at the concert in the capital of Azerbaijan.
Sharing his impressions during the concert, Steve Barakatt said that it was his first time in Azerbaijan and he was glad to perform beloved works for his fans.
A recipient of many awards, performer, composer, and producer, Steve Barakatt has participated in hundreds of projects in different countries and collaborated with famous artists, record companies, organizations, and leading orchestras worldwide. In 2020, he was awarded the title of Knight of the National Order of Quebec by the Premier of Quebec.
