Pointing out that Azerbaijan had been subjected to occupation and aggression by Armenia for 30 years, the writer criticized the openly pro-Armenian position of some media and journalists of the Netherlands and the one-sided and biased coverage of the events on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
Reminding that in his book on the Khojaly genocide he had laid out the facts about Karabakh, Henri Van Rens said that, like his Azerbaijani friends, he believes in the positive outcome of the Azerbaijani state’s efforts to establish peace in the region.

Speaking at the All-European Karabakh rally on February 26, 2023, held by the Azerbaijani Diaspora on the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide in the famous Heldenplatz square in Vienna with the demand “Justice for Khojaly!”, the Dutch writer called on the international community to recognize the Khojaly genocide and demanded that the Armenian villains who had committed this bloody massacre be brought to justice.
