This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the informal meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest.
According to Erdoğan, Turkey is closely following the developments in the South Caucasus, which holds strategic importance for the Turkic world.
He noted that Turkey welcomes the progress toward a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“If sustainable peace is established between the two countries, it will undoubtedly create many new opportunities for the entire Turkic world. In this regard, I am confident that the victorious President Ilham Aliyev will go down in history as the leader who brought peace to the region,” Erdoğan added.
