Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed Azerbaijan’s transfer of four Armenians to Armenia, describing the move as a positive contribution to advancing a just and sustainable peace in the South Caucasus.
A similar statement was issued by Anitta Hipper, spokesperson for the European Union’s External Action Service. Commenting on the development, she noted that the EU welcomes the release and transfer of four Armenians who had been held in Azerbaijan.
According to her, this represents a significant step forward in the Armenian–Azerbaijani peace process. The European Union emphasized that it will continue to support further positive steps aimed at improving relations between the two countries.
