Azerbaijan considers the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) Implementation Framework document, made public on January 13 during the visit of the Armenian foreign minister to the United States, an important step toward launching practical work in this direction.
This was stated by Aykhan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, in response to a local media inquiry.
“The adoption of the mentioned document, in addition to once again demonstrating the U.S. side’s commitment to the agreements reached within the framework of the Washington Summit on August 8, is an important step toward starting practical work in this area. This process is also important in terms of fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Armenia,” the MFA spokesperson said.
He noted that ensuring unimpeded connectivity between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is one of the country’s main priorities. The TRIPP route is also important in terms of diversifying trade and connections in the wider region.
