Before his appointment as Foreign Minister in 2023, Fidan had long headed Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT).
As part of his visit to Russia, Fidan will participate in a meeting of the BRICS+ foreign ministers in Nizhny Novgorod. He is also expected to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
