In his message, the head of state notes that the Jewish community of Azerbaijan, a country with an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust between different peoples and religions, has been able to make this place its homeland, preserved its traditions, language and culture over hundreds of years, living in peace and quiet, and has never encountered anti-Semitism and discrimination here.
“Promotion of multicultural values, principles of tolerance and diversity of cultural expressions, which have existed in our country for centuries, are among the key priorities of our state policy.
“It is remarkable that our compatriots of Jewish descent, being an integral part of our society, together with representatives of other ethnic groups and religions, are actively involved in the large-scale construction work being carried out in the country, making efforts for the development and progress of modern Azerbaijan and honorably perform their civic duty to further strengthen state independence”, President Ilham Aliyev wrote.
