President Ilham Aliyev made this statement during a meeting with a group of residents who relocated to the village of Ballija in the Khojaly district.
“Today, this is also my primary responsibility as president. We ended the occupation, and in 2023, through an anti-terror operation, we fully liberated this region. Ballija and hundreds of other settlements have been completely freed from the occupiers, and now we are restoring life here.”
The president highlighted that the reconstruction of Ballija village is nearing completion:
“According to the information provided to me, 137 houses have already been restored, and about 60 more are being rebuilt.”
Noting that 460 former displaced persons have already settled in Ballija, the head of state stated:
“We have rebuilt homes, there are excellent opportunities for agriculture, the land is fertile, and the air is clean. The entire Karabakh and East Zangezur region is being revived, and we can witness this transformation every day.”
