Iran has installed a new radar with an 800 km range in the highlands of Gilan Province to monitor the northern airspace of the country, adding it to its integrated air defense network, according to Islamic World News.
The Nazir radar, with a range of 800 km, is capable of detecting targets at altitudes of over 30 km. It can identify drones and cruise missiles.
It is noted that with the installation of this radar in Gilan, the entire airspace over Azerbaijan, Armenia, a significant portion of eastern Turkey, most of Georgia, western Turkmenistan, part of southwestern Kazakhstan, and the Caspian Sea will now be under the surveillance of Iran’s air defense system.
