As previously reported by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will arrive in Pakistan today for a two-day visit.
“Minister of Petroleum Musadik Malik said on Wednesday that Azerbaijan is considering investing between 2 to 3 billion dollars in Pakistan,” reported the state agency Associated Press of Pakistan on Wednesday.
The publication reported that according to the Pakistani minister, Azerbaijan is particularly interested in investing in the mineral, oil, and gas sectors.
The minister stated that Azerbaijan is focused on the oil and gas exploration sector and is also looking to expand investments in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.
Malik noted that Prime Minister Sharif aims to expand economic cooperation with “friendly countries,” adding that he prioritizes investments over aid from allies.
The Minister of Petroleum said that the visit of the Azerbaijani president to the country is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between the countries.
“Discussions will include increasing textile exports and promoting the IT sector between the two countries,” APP said.
