The participation of Russia and Türkiye in the TRIPP project was not discussed, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in a live broadcast from Washington following the signing of the document on the project’s implementation.
At the same time, the minister noted that for the full logistical unblocking of the region, Türkiye’s involvement is necessary — in particular via the Gyumri–Kars route — as well as possible participation by Russia. “We do not intend to leave the Russian Federation outside the framework,” Mirzoyan stressed.
Regarding Armenia’s earlier proposal to restore missing sections of the railway if the Russian side, represented by South Caucasus Railways, is not ready to proceed, Mirzoyan said that no concrete response has yet been received. Armenia has submitted its infrastructure proposals to Russia, and if there is no reaction, alternative scenarios will be considered.
