Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, is consistent, pragmatic, and firmly focused on safeguarding national interests, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference summarizing the outcomes of 2025.
According to the minister, this approach has enabled Azerbaijan to expand both bilateral and multilateral cooperation formats and to further strengthen its position on the international stage. Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the tangible progress achieved over the past year within the framework of the peace agenda with Armenia.
He also noted that Azerbaijan’s hosting of major international events has contributed to an increase in the country’s political influence and reinforced its image as a reliable and responsible partner in global affairs.
Emphasizing regional priorities, Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the development of relations with neighboring states remains a key pillar of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. Commenting on relations with Russia, he pointed out that the tension that arose following the AZAL aircraft tragedy has significantly eased after the Russian side offered an apology during the meeting in Dushanbe, creating the necessary basis for the resumption of dialogue.
