During the meeting, a strong protest was expressed regarding the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to the border area between Armenia and Azerbaijan, near the village of Kerki, which remains under Armenian occupation despite repeated warnings from the Azerbaijani side. Duda’s participation in activities involving the EU mission in Armenia, perceived as being directed against Azerbaijan, was deemed unacceptable.
It was emphasized that the EU mission, initially presented as an initiative to promote regional stability and build trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia, is in practice being used as a tool against Azerbaijan, contradicting its stated objectives.
Azerbaijan stressed that such provocative actions undermine Azerbaijani-Polish relations and called for Poland to refrain from steps that threaten Azerbaijan’s legitimate security interests.
