During his meeting with Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku on June 13 Abdulla Shahid said that Azerbaijan is one of the most active UN member states and congratulated the country on the 30th anniversary of its UN membership.
Abdulla Shahid applauded Azerbaijan’s successful presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement. He thanked the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his leadership in multilateralism (joint and coordinated resolution of issues concerning many interested countries).
The President of the UN General Assembly said that he highly appreciates the global initiatives against the COVID-19 pandemic put forward by the President of Azerbaijan. Abdulla Shaheed also commended the work done in Azerbaijan at the national level towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
