SOCAR representatives will address the development of energy security and emission reduction strategies in Africa’s oil and gas sector.
SOCAR is actively involved in the modernization of oil refineries in the Republic of the Congo, making significant contributions to local content development, poverty alleviation, and equitable management of natural resources on the continent. The company’s participation in AEW: Invest in African Energy 2024 will further strengthen its commitment to sustainable development and collaboration with local partners.
In April, SOCAR signed three agreements with the National Oil Company of the Republic of the Congo (SNPC) related to refinery development, training, and sustainable resource management. One of the key agreements focuses on improving and expanding the Congolaise de Raffinage oil refinery, which produces up to 1 million tons of oil annually. The parties also agreed on joint human capital development and environmental protection.
NJ Ayuk, Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, noted that SOCAR’s participation in the conference reaffirms its commitment to finding sustainable energy solutions for Africa and advancing international cooperation.
SOCAR aims to strengthen international partnerships, foster human capital development, and promote sustainable resource management in Africa, which will be key themes of the upcoming conference.
