The film is about Azerbaijan facing Armenian military aggression after regaining its independence 30 years ago, and about the First and Second Karabakh wars. It shows the devastation of Azerbaijan’s lands under Armenian occupation, the destruction of cities, villages and the entire infrastructure. It is mentioned in the film that Aghdam is called “Hiroshima of the Caucasus”, that the mosques of Karabakh were used as cattle barns. The documentary also captures the creative work carried out in Shusha, as well as other regions of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation after the victory of the Azerbaijani army.
During the ceremony, young people from the provocative Armenian Dashnak organization known as FRA Nor Seround attacked the center. The attack resulted in the injury of Azerbaijani participant Ayten Muradova, who has been a resident of France for many years.
This incident has caused serious concern to Azerbaijanis living in other countries of the world, and Azerbaijani diaspora organizations. It is doubly regrettable that this disgraceful incident occurred in France, a country with democratic principles and supreme values such as human rights and right to live in safety, because incidents like this at public events call into question fundamental rights of Azerbaijanis, such as the right to live in peace and safety in that country.
We deplore the fact that such an incident took place in the center of Paris and hope that the actions of the instigators of the incident will be judged in accordance with the French laws and international law.
