If the trend of declining water levels in the Caspian Sea continues beyond 2023, the production capacities of ports, including the ports of Aktau and Alat, will be at risk.

This is reported with reference to a special report by the World Bank, as conveyed by APA.

According to the information, the current water level in the sea is particularly low, which increases problems related to navigation approaches to the ports and the operation of ships at the docks.

“Many ships in the Caspian Sea can no longer operate at full capacity,” the report emphasizes.

The document highlights that in this context, the World Bank has initiated a series of studies, the first results of which will be available in mid-2024 and completed in early 2025.
