Saying that there are diaspora organizations working in different areas in more than 70 countries of the world already, the Chairman of the Committee mentioned that they had been formed as a result of forward-looking policy and are playing the role of soft power: “Thanks to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev we have returned to our lands today, but 30 years ago these issues were very pressing, and the world community was not yet united in the global information space through social networks that came as a result of new technologies. A very important factor for us was to make Azerbaijan’s righteous position known in the countries where we live. It was very important at that time to organize the Azerbaijani diaspora and rally around a common goal.”
The Chairman of the Committee said that the diaspora is already active in 51 countries and there are representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in about 80 countries. He then talked about the Victory Congress in Shusha and stressed that President Ilham Aliyev’s praise of the work of our country’s diaspora is a big incentive for further activities: “18 Azerbaijan Houses have been opened to date, and this process continues all over the world. There are also Saturday and Sunday schools functioning on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. We believe that the number of these schools will be doubled by the end of the year.”
Speaking about the vast opportunities of the Azerbaijani state and the activity of the experts regularly and intensively working with the diaspora in the information war, Fuad Muradov emphasized the role of each diaspora organization in our country’s struggle: “Over the past four years, representatives of our diaspora have organized visits of over 30 missions to the liberated lands, during which experts, historians and journalists have seen the real state of affairs and informed the world about it. At the same time, the diaspora’s achievement is the result of the victory of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the Azerbaijani people.”
Stressing that our heroic martyrs, our soldiers have been doing a very important work to preserve and restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, that families of the martyrs and veterans are invited to the events organized by our diaspora representatives in foreign countries every month, Fuad Muradov said that there is a great work ahead: “The several priorities highlighted by the head of state at the Victory Congress in Shusha is a road map for us.”
The Chairman of the Committee also said that the organization of youth summer schools had become a necessity and that one of such schools would take place in Shusha on August 2-8 of this year with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
