The event, organized by the British Azerbaijani Society, was attended by nearly 500 spectators, including members of the diplomatic corps, local community, friends of our country, and our compatriots.
The concert program, consisting of works by eminent Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibeyov, Fikret Amirov, Jahangir Jahangirov, Tofig Guliyev, Vagif Mustafazade, Faiq Suceddinov, as well as Sevda Mammadli, Arzu Abbasova’s compositions and folk music, was performed by world-famous jazzman and Azerbaijani Honored Artist Elchin Shirinov, international competition laureate Vusale Babayeva, composer and musician Arzu Abbasova.
During the event, speeches were made by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Elin Suleymanov, head of the British Azerbaijani Society Farida Panahova, and British journalist-politologist Neil Watson. They informed the guests about the contributions of Azerbaijani cultural heritage to humanity, the gems of Azerbaijani music art, and highlighted the achievements of our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Speakers noted that 2024 will be recorded as the beginning of a new phase and one of the important years in the life of our people. They called the first presidential elections held throughout our country after 30 years of longing a significant historical event.
